| Free Summer Programs for Philly StudentsThe School District of Philadelphia is offering free, full-day summer programs for students entering Kindergarten through 12th grade. Senator Hughes is excited to share an exciting opportunity from the School District of Philadelphia that could make a real difference for families this summer. From June 24 through August 1, 2025, the District will offer free, full-day summer programs for Kindergarten through 12th grade students. These programs aim to keep students academically engaged, expose students to new interests and career paths, support social and emotional development, and bridge opportunity gaps, all in a safe and enriching environment. Here are a few highlights: Summer Achievers (grades 1–8) offers reading, math, arts, and weekly field trips. Career & Technical Education camps allow middle schoolers to explore hands-on trades and technical fields. High schoolers can gain real-world experience through paid internships or build their business ideas in StartUp EDU. Students who love music can join the All-City Orchestra or Drumline to hone their talents and perform with peers.
